The biggest highlight of the Paralympic games is without a doubt Oscar Pistorius. He has become a sporting legend and is a true ambassador for South African sport. I would seriously categorize him as a white Nelson Mandela.

Anyway, the 200m T43/4 final was list night and after Oscar’s performance in the semis, it was quite clear that he would take the gold in the final. What was quite interesting though, is his concerns for the Brazilian athlete who also competing in the final. Pistorius commented on the fact the the Brazilian was using longer blades than before. “If you look at the videos from last year, Alan was shorter than me but now he’s taller than me.” Pistorius said. It must be noted that this happened BEFORE the final.

If you look at the race below, the Brazilian ran like a demon in the last 100m to overtake Pistorius to take the gold. I must be honest, it doesn’t look like right. Obviously neither did Oscar as he reiterated  his concerns after the race.

Is he  being a sore a loser or does he have a point? Does the longer blades give the athlete an unfair advantage? If Pistorius had won in the Olympic games, would the other athletes have said the same thing as Oscar is saying now? Whether it is right from him to complain or not, he still remains a legend!
