After searching long and wide, by hook and by crook CSA managed to get a sponsor who does not mind to be associated with Crooked South Africa. The upcoming test series against the mortal enemy of all sports-loving South African, Australia, will be Sunfoil (or to be more accurate, Willowton Group, manufacturers of Sunfoil Pure Sunflower Cooking Oil). Now, for anyone following the CSA debacle more closely, this is quite an ironic turn of events:

  • The cooking oil brand adds a bit of literal justice to brand that has been found to cook the books! To think their own auditors (our friends at Deloitte) picked up the missing 4 million bucks during a routine audit shows clear signs of either superior stupidity or a scary dash of arrogance.
  • The sponsorship will be just as slippery as Messers Majola and Nyoka. After being at loggerheads since the IPL bonus scandal, these two ex-team mates just can’t bury the hatchet. It would have been much easier if they just come clean and release that KPMG audit report…
Let’s trust AK Kahn and co can clear up all the doubt we have in CSA, and deliver a cracking test series. I can’t wait for Rudolph to hit the crap out Mitchell Johnson!
