Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira is the strongman in the Boks’ front row packing in on the loosehead side. Beast adds value to the team as a very mobile prop that contributes in the loose and with his trademark storming runs to the calls of “Beeeaaaasssttt!!” by home  crowds. He was born and schooled  in Zimbabwe and moved to KZN where he has been playing for the Sharks ever since. He was formidable in the series win against the British and Irish Lions in 2009 scrumming legend Phil Vickery to a pulp in the first test at Kings Park. A Performance that established the Springbok dominance for the rest of the series.
