Schalk Burger is one of the best loose forwards SA has every seen. With his abundance of stamina he is always one of the 1st players to arrive on the breakdown. He had a tremendous springbok career when he started playing for the springboks and even won the trophy of International IRB player of the year in 2004. He however suffered a serious neck injury which almost cost him his career in 2006. But he came back with more hunger than ever. He is one of the pillars of the 2011 Springbok squad and will play a key role in the defense of their World Cup title.
